The Making of Bellesang
The town started off being just a small community of witches who were forced from their old villages and all met up here. The first witch that was reported to have settled in the rather dreary area was the Witch named Bellesang. She was an infamous witch who would often “deal out beauty”, as she would say herself. She would change a person’s appearance to be whatever they wish. The magic, however, was nothing more than an illusion, and there was always a high price to pay. Ranging from their first-born child to their soul, it all depended on what was needed.
Lady Bellesang was quite beautiful herself, and seemed to always be courted by some hapless man who had been wandering in the mountainsides of what is now known as “Stag Mountain” due to the large numbers of deer that lived in the area. The stag’s horns were often used in Lady Bellesang’s potions, so it only seemed right to name it after that.
Later on, witches ranging from all sorts of magic from soul-stealing to summoning came to the mountainsides and the valley below. It was filled up, and a village was started only to be lead by Bellesang. She lived for a good two hundred years before a small group attacked and beheaded her, thus claiming their leadership.
Not proving to be good leaders, the small group often fought and ended up killing each other ultimately. A few years later, a large tribe of warriors fought all the witches and beheaded every one of them and claimed the land. There were many mishaps and going-ons before that happened, but that is truly another story.
And still, today, the now large village is named “Bellesang” after the founder. Some of the inhabitants are even rumored to be her child or grandchild. No one has yet looked into that possibility, just yet though.
